Practical guide

A transaction trail
is not a recovery promise.

Understanding movement and obtaining a remedy are different tasks.

The tracing question

What activity is observable in the available transaction record? A scoped review may help connect payment references with recorded transfers, while documenting gaps and uncertain attribution.

The recovery question

Whether assets can be returned depends on the facts, the parties involved and applicable processes. A flow diagram cannot itself reverse a transfer, freeze an account or compel repayment.

Identity remains a separate issue

An address is not a verified person. Third-party labels, exchange interactions and apparently connected wallets need context. Do not treat an uncertain connection as established control.

Questions before engagement

Ask what networks and records can be examined, what deliverable is proposed, what is excluded, what the fees cover and how uncertainty will be reported. Be cautious about unconditional outcomes or requests for private keys.
